Is this course for me?

Approximately 15% of people are affected by Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs). Develop your understanding of what SpLDs are and how they can affect the lives of those impacted by them. From dyslexia and dyscalculia to ADHD and DCD, there are many types of SpLD and some people are affected by more than one. This course will help to identify ways of supporting those with SpLDs. The units and topics included are ideal for learners who want to support those with SpLDs at home, in the workplace, or in schools.

What will I study?

Ideal for learners who wish to develop their knowledge and understanding of Specific Learning Difficulties. This may includeteaching staff who wish to further their understanding of dyslexia, ADHD and other Specific Learning Difficulties, or employers who want to support their workforce. This course is split into five manageable units: Unit 1: Understand specific learning difficulties Unit 2: Understand the effects of specific learning difficulties Unit 3: Understand the diagnosis of specific learning difficulties Unit 4: Understanding supporting individuals with specific learning difficulties Unit 5: Understand the context of specific learning difficulties

How long is the course?

You can start the course at any time throughout the year and should take around 12 week to complete.

How will I be assessed?

You will complete assessments through an online booklet

What qualifications do I need?

No prior qualifications needed however good knowledge of English is required.

What can I progress onto?

You can progress on to another distance learning course or continue to learn in a range of other courses

Other Information

You will achieve a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification relevant to a wide range of care settings and further your personal and professional development
