Is this course for me?

The Engineering Professional Honours Programme will prepare you for progression to specific engineering careers. The programme will encourage you to gather evidence and gain the necessary skills to support your UCAS application for Engineering degrees. You will have the opportunity to establish pathways into careers such as civil, structural and robotics engineering.

What will I study?

A Level Maths to develop skills in algebra, statistics and probability. You will also study Physics, Computing Science and an additional AS subject in the first year. The Professional Development Day includes the Debating Society and the iDEA online programme to develop digital skills.

How long is the course?

Full time for two academic years

How will I be assessed?

You will undertake external examinations, produce coursework and practical assessments.

What qualifications do I need?

A minimum of 8 GCSEs graded A*- C / 9 - 5 of which a minimum of 4 GCSEs graded B / 9 - 6 (including English, Maths and Science)

What can I progress onto?

We will support you in applying for places at prestigious engineering universities nationwide, or to secure a degree apprenticeship or employment in the engineering sector. Chartered Engineers can expect to earn over £80k a year. Other careers include Civil Engineer, Structural Engineer, Contracts Manager, Robotics Engineer, Project Manager, Environmental Engineer(including renewable energies and resources), Estimator , Chemical Engineer, Electrical Engineers, Aircraft Design and Build Engineer, Electrical Engineering Technicians.
