Is this course for me?

This course enables students to apply knowledge to design and develop innovative products and services, involving technical responsibility for complex engineering systems. Students will develop competence in analysis and evaluation to solve problems in complex engineering systems. This course leads to progression onto masters courses at UCLan. This programme supports a student as a Chartered Engineer.

What will I study?

You will study a range of core and specialist modules which may include: Operations Management, Circuits, Networks & Electronmagnetic Waves; Engineering Project, Specialist modules: Design for Manufacture, Heat Transfer and Fluid Mechanics and Sustainable Design.

How long is the course?

Two academic years.

How will I be assessed?

The programme is assessed through formal end of year examinations, practical and directed assignments, reports, presentations and viva voce examination.

What qualifications do I need?

An overall merit grade or above in a relevant HND programme, merit grades in Further Analytical Methods for Engineers and Further Electrical Principles are essential. Applications for applicants with alternative qualifications are welcome. Students must
