Is this course for me?

This course and level is appropriate for students working in an engineering environment and have some knowledge and skills in the industry.

What will I study?

You will be able to demonstrate your competence in joining, welding, cutting or forming materials. There are three mandatory units around health and safety, interpreting engineering data and documentation and working efficiently and effectively in engineering plus other additional optional units.

How long is the course?

Part time evening study for one academic year.

How will I be assessed?

Through competence based assessments.

What qualifications do I need?

Through discussion with course tutors around prior industrial knowledge.

What can I progress onto?

This may inspire you to join the Level 3 NVQ in fabrication and welding.

Other Information

Safety boots and overalls will be required prior to the commencement of the course.
