What will I study?

The course is made up of 18 units which are: health and safety, communications, engineering project (double unit), mechanical principles and mathematics, primary forming processes, finishing and secondary processes, engineering materials, measurement & inspection techniques, electrical and electronic principles, engineering drawing, engineering design, CAD, CNC machining, business systems, further mathematics and further mechanical principles.

How long is the course?

Full time for two academic years.

How will I be assessed?

Your programme of assessment will be by realistic workplace assignments and projects.

What qualifications do I need?

A minimum of 5 A*-C / 9-4 GCSE subjects or equivalent including maths or English.
