This course would provide you with the practical skills to begin a rewarding career in the dynamic engineering industry. The course is covers Mechanical Engineering, Fabrication & Welding and Electrical Engineering.

What will I study?

This course would provide you with the practical skills to begin a rewarding career in the dynamic engineering industry. The course typical units include: Fitting, Machining, Producing Sheet Metal Components and Assemblies, Working in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Machining by Turning. You will also learn how to work safely in this mechanical environment.

How long is the course?

Full time for one academic year.

How will I be assessed?

Through competence based assessment within individual units, and external examinations for the Certificate in Engineering Level 2.

What qualifications do I need?

A minimum of 5 A*-D / 9-3 GCSE subjects including maths or English.

What can I progress onto?

You will be eligible to apply for an Engineering apprenticeship and progress onto a Level 3 in an engineering discipline.
