Is this course for me?

This exciting course will allow you to develop a range of theory and production skills for the UK's dynamically changing media industry. From understanding the ways audience view a product, to the writing and creation of live radio, dramas, music videos and adverts. This course offers you the chance to develop your creative, analytical and production skills within the creative media sector.

What will I study?

The Level 2 course takes your ideas from the planning stage, through the production stage and on to evaluation and audience feedback. You will learn to plan a production and combine a vital understanding of your target audience and practical production skills. You will work across the video, radio and animation fields in order to create a wide range of media products.

How long is the course?

Full time for one academic year.

How will I be assessed?

Continuous assessment of coursework, involving group and individual assignments. Assignments range from adverts to the creation of television drama and music videos. Within radio you will create varied audio pieces.

What qualifications do I need?

A minimum of 5 A*-D / 9-3 GCSE subjects including maths or English.

What can I progress onto?

Students can progress on to the Creative Digital Media BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma.

Other Information

Facilities include Adobe Mastersuite 6, Premiere Pro and AVID video edit suites, Adobe Audition audio edit systems, a 3 camera television studio, a broadcast Radio studio and location audio and video recording kits.
