Is this course for me?

This apprenticeship is ideal for people who have an interest and aptitude for work in the Motor Industry. The advanced apprenticeship provides you with work based, practical experience whilst gaining the skills and knowledge you need to do the job and progress. You will need to pass an aptitude test and have a successful interview. Apprenticeships are a well respected and recommended route into this sector.

What will I study?

Qualification Credit Framework (QCF): Light or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Vocational Competency Qualification (VCQ) at Level 3. A Vocationally Related Qualification (VCQ) at Level 3, plus functional skills in Maths, English and ICT at Level 2.

How long is the course?

You will attend College one day per week for one academic year with the remainder of your time in the workplace.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed in the workplace, take formal examinations and will need to build a portfolio of evidence.

What qualifications do I need?

A prior qualification at Level 2 in Motor Vehicle or a Level 2 apprenticeship programme.

What can I progress onto?

Successful completion may allow opportunity to progress onto a Level 4 higher apprenticeship and this could lead to promotion within your profession.
