Is this course for me?

The Motor Vehicle industry impacts upon a diverse range of sectors and therefore provides an interesting and rewarding career with progression opportunities at all levels. An apprenticeship provides you with work based, practical experience whilst gaining the skills and knowledge you need to do the job and progress. You will need to pass an aptitude test and have a successful interview.

What will I study?

The apprenticeship follows the Qualification Credit Framework (QCF) in light or heavy vehicle maintenance and repair and the vocational competency qualification (VCQ) at Level 2. In addition, you will develop functional skills in Maths, English and ICT.

How long is the course?

You will attend College one day per week for one academic year with the remainder of your time in the workplace.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed in the workplace, take formal examinations and will need to build a portfolio of evidence.

What qualifications do I need?

What can I progress onto?

Successful completion of the framework may enable you to progress on to a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship and this could lead to promotion within your profession.
