Is this course for me?

Do you have a love for performing arts? Is your dream to work in theatre, dance, television or film? Have you got lots of energy, imagination and a story to tell? If so then the stage is set for you to start working towards your career in dance and drama.

What will I study?

This is an exciting, practical based course. You will learn performance skills and styles. You will work in our specialist facilities and produce a series of small and large scale projects taking on the role of dancer, choreographer, actor, director or a member of the technical production team. You will watch professional shows and take part in workshops, write scripts, design costumes, build sets, create and operate music and lights and much more.

How long is the course?

Full time for one academic year.

How will I be assessed?

You will be set exciting tasks for a work related projects which will be assessed by tutors and external examiners. The majority of these will be practical, others will involve project journals and performance reviews.

What qualifications do I need?

A minimum of 5 A*-D / 9-3 GCSE subjects including maths or English. You will need to successfully pass an audition.

What can I progress onto?

Onto the Performing Arts Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma.

Other Information

You will gain experience for employment in the entertainment industry. You will build self confidence, group working and organisational skills that are transferable to any business sector.
