Is this course for me?

This course will help you to develop the skills and knowledge you will need to work in the entertainment industry. This course caters for students wanting to study both dance and drama.

What will I study?

This is an exciting, practical based course. You will learn performance skills and styles. You will work in our specialist facilities and produce a series of small and large scale projects taking on the role of dancer, choreographer, actor, director or a member of the technical production team. You will watch professional shows and take part in workshops, write scripts, design costumes, build sets, create and operate music and lights and much more.

How long is the course?

Full time for one academic year.

How will I be assessed?

Continual internal assessment of assignments, performances and a major project.

What qualifications do I need?

A minimum of 5 A*-D / 9-3 GCSE subjects including maths or English. You will need to successfully pass an audition.

What can I progress onto?

Achievement at merit grade allows entry onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts.

Students can expect to work with a competent, professional team of staff with a broad experience of the entertainment industry. Facilities include a theatre and dance studios. You can also look forward to workshops with professional companies and theatre visits. If you are 16 18 years old, you may be eligible for our FREE bus pass.
