Is this course for me?

This course is for those who would like to gain a qualification in the trade. On completion of the Level 2 Plastering Technical Certificate, the dedication and achievement you have shown during the course will prove invaluable to prospective employers.

What will I study?

This course consists of flexible programme of practical and theoretical study. The programme is offered as a continuation from the Level 2 Diploma in Plastering. Learners will carry out safe working practices in construction, use building information, quantities and communicate with others, develop skills in building methods and construction technology, apply plaster materials to external surfaces, fix dry lining and plasterboard products to interiors, form sand and cement screeds, produce plaster components, apply plaster materials to internal surfaces, position and secure fibrous plaster components and a practical assessment.

How long is the course?

Full time for one academic year.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is via practical skills and the underpinning knowledge, including short tests, subject assignments. There is an externally set theory test at the end of the course.

What qualifications do I need?

Successful completion of Level 2 in the subject plus maths or English at grade C / 4.

What can I progress onto?

This can lead to employment in the industry and Level 3 in plastering.
