Is this course for me?

This course suits those considering entering the building industry who would like to learn plastering.

What will I study?

The course consists of practical tasks with theoretical study. Students learn the underpinning knowledge to progress to the Level 2 Diploma in Plastering. A Diploma can be upgraded to a full apprenticeship as and when employment is gained. Learners will carry out safe working practices in construction, use information, quantities and communicate with others, learn building methods and construction technology, prepare background surfaces and plaster materials, apply plaster materials to internal backgrounds and produce components from moulds.

How long is the course?

Full time for one academic year.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is via practical skills and end of unit online tests. There is also an externally set theory test at the end of the course.

What qualifications do I need?

A minimum of 5 A*-E/F / 9-2 subjects or equivalent.

What can I progress onto?

You can progress onto a full time Level 2 Diploma in Plastering, Construction or gain employment through an apprenticeship.

Other Information

You will need a basic kit, overalls and safety boots. You will be supported by experienced and enthusiastic tutors who are all trade qualified who will help you achieve your goal.
