Is this course for me?

The NVQ Diploma in Plumbing and Domestic Heating is for anyone wanting to become a qualified plumber or domestic engineer. This part time course is designed for adult learners and school leavers with employment within the plumbing industry.

What will I study?

Learners must achieve a range of units such as safe working practices, apply scientific principles, carry out site preparation, and pipework fabrication techniques, apply domestic cold water system installation, apply domestic hot water system installation and maintenance techniques, apply domestic central heating system installation and maintenance techniques plus others.

How long is the course?

You will attend College one day per week for one academic year with the remainder of your time in the workplace.

How will I be assessed?

Practical units are assessed by compiling a portfolio of set tasks which are checked by our qualified assessors. Knowledge units are assessed by ten on line examinations, work based units are assessed on site by assessors.

What qualifications do I need?
