Is this course for me?

Candidates must be able to provide a significant amount of work based evidence to be successful. Generally studied as part of an apprenticeship, NVQ Level 2 is recognised by the Plumbing Industry as the minimum qualification for skilled operatives.

What will I study?

Modules include: Safety in Plumbing, Key Plumbing Principles, Common Plumbing Processes, Cold Water Systems, Domestic Hot Water Systems, Sanitation, Central Heating, Electrical Supply and Earth, Sheet Lead Work, Environmental Awareness and Effective Working Relationships.

How long is the course?

You will attend College one day per week for one academic year with the remainder of your time in the workplace.

How will I be assessed?

By continuous external and internal assessment, and completion of a portfolio containing work/college based evidence.

What qualifications do I need?

You must be employed in the plumbing industry, have GCSE grades A C in Mathematics and English (or pass a pre test) and have a successful interview.

What can I progress onto?

Progression to NVQ and Technical Certificate at Level 3 in Plumbing.
