Is this course for me?

This course will help you develop the skills and knowledge you will need when applying for, and working in, the Police, Fire and Rescue Services, Armed Forces, Customs & Excise, Prison and Youth and Community roles. Your skills in communication, problem solving, team working and self discipline will be developed as you progress on this course.

What will I study?

The programme of study will cover modules such as public service skills, career planning, improving health & fitness, law & its impact, citizenship, adventurous activities, research project and community and culture. You will also study English and maths at an appropriate level, along with participating in a range of work related activities.

How long is the course?

Full time for one academic year.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is made up of internal assignments and externally marked assignments.

What qualifications do I need?

A minimum of 5 A*-D / 9-3 GCSE subjects including maths or English.

What can I progress onto?

On successful completion of the courses you can progress to the BTEC Level 3 programme of study.
