Is this course for me?

This course will help you gain the knowledge, understanding and skills required for success in employment in the Public Services Police, Fire and Rescue, Paramedic, Prison Services or Armed Forces. This course is best suited to students with a high level of self discipline and a desire to work towards applying to university and a career in a public service.

What will I study?

The programme of study covers modules such as: government and policies, leadership and teamwork, citizenship and diversity, understanding discipline, physical fitness, communication and technology and volunteering in the public services sector. You will also undertake a range of voluntary and work related activities to enhance employability skills.

How long is the course?

Full time for two academic years

How will I be assessed?

All units are assessed by the completion of assignments.

What qualifications do I need?

A minimum of 5 A*-C / 9-4 GCSE subjects or equivalent including maths or English.

What can I progress onto?

Employment on in the Public Services, continue onto the HND in Public Services or a degree course.
