Is this course for me?

This is a practical, work related course. It develops the skills and knowledge to enable you to perform a scientific role in industry, commerce and science related employment. It is an assignment based course covering three key areas: Biology, Chemistry and Physics with emphasis on the work of scientists and technicians.

What will I study?

You will study a wide range of topics including: chemistry and our earth, energy and our universe and biology and our environment.

How long is the course?

Full time for one academic year.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment will be through assignments, coursework, projects and two external exams.

What qualifications do I need?

A minimum of 5 A*-D / 9-3 GCSE subjects including maths or English.

What can I progress onto?

You can progress on to the Applied Science Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma or into employment.
