If you want to specialise within this highly rewarding beauty industry then this course is for you. The knowledge and skills included are highly commercial and taught to a professional level providing excellent employment opportunities. Our commercial salons are open to the public to ensure a realistic working environment this enables learners to develop skills necessary to work with confidence within such a diverse and exciting industry.

What will I study?

This is an intensive course which covers advanced beauty therapy skills the course content includes anatomy and physiology, business management, permanent hair removal using diathermy, galvanic & the blend, head & body massage, hot stone massage, electrotherapy for body & face including micro current and microdermabrasion treatments. You will also help promote and sell products and services to clients, study anatomy and physiology, provide body massage, facial electrotherapy treatments, body electrotherapy treatments and electrical epilation to our paying clients at the Image Centre. As part of your programme of study you will participate in work experience to develop your employability skills. As well as GCSE Maths and/or English if needed.

How long is the course?

Full time for one academic year

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is through observation of practical skills and assignments covering the knowledge requirements.

You will be required to build a portfolio, show casing your practical skills and experiences gained on the course.

What qualifications do I need?

Successful completion of Level 2 in the subject plus maths or English at grade C / 4.

What can I progress onto?

Students may progress onto a Level 4 in Advanced Techniques in Beauty Therapy or employment. Your industry work placement will be integral in developing skills and building the confidence to gain employment.

Other Information

Both Image Centres have state of the art facilities offering a realistic working environment. You will need to purchase a kit and Image Centre uniform. You will also have the opportunity to participate in trips, shows and competitions.

You will be required to do additional independent work from home to support your progression through the course.
