If you want to specialise within this highly rewarding Nail industry then this course is for you. The knowledge and skills included are highly commercial and taught to a professional level providing excellent employment opportunities. Our commercial salons are open to the public to ensure a realistic working environment this enables learners to develop skills necessary to work with confidence within such a diverse and exciting industry.

What will I study?

During this course you will study the following units:

Promote products and services,

apply and maintain nail enhancements,

create airbrush designs incorporating advanced nail art,

use electric filing techniques,

enhance and maintain nails using light cured gel including hard gels,

balance liquid and powder nail enhancements,

learn the latest gel polish nail services.

You will also promote and sell products and services to clients, study business practice, anatomy and physiology for the hands

As part of your programme of study you will participate in work experience to develop tour employability skills.

As well as complete GCSE English and / or maths if needed.

How long is the course?

Full time for one academic year

How will I be assessed?

Candidates are assessed by continuous observation of skills, assessing performance and through written tests.

You will be required to build a portfolio, show casing your practical skills and experiences gained on the course.

What qualifications do I need?

Successful completion of Level 2 in the subject plus maths or English at grade C / 4.

What can I progress onto?

Employment within a beauty salon or specialist nail salon. Your industry work placement will be integral in developing skills and building the confidence to gain employment.

Other Information

Both Image Centres have state of the art facilities offering a realistic working environment. You will need to purchase a kit and Image Centre uniform.
