Is this course for me?

The Business administrator role may involve working independently or as part of a team and will involve developing, implementing, maintaining and improving administrative services. Business administrators develop key skills and behaviours to support their own progression towards management responsibilities.The responsibilities of the role are to support and engage with different parts of an organisation and interact with internal or external customers. With a focus on adding value, the role of business administrator contributes to the efficiency of an organisation, through support of functional areas, working across teams and resolving issues as requested. The flexibility and responsiveness required allows the apprentice to develop a wide range of skills.The business administrator is expected to deliver their responsibilities efficiently and with integrity - showing a positive attitude. The role involves demonstrating strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and adopting a proactive approach to developing skills. The business administrator is also expected to show initiative, managing priorities and own time, problem-solving skills, decision-making and the potential for people management responsibilities through mentoring or coaching others. What will I study?

In this apprenticeship you will be learning the knowledge, skills and behaviours to be successful in your chosen role, these include: Knowledge & Skills: IT, record and document production, decision making, interpersonal skills, communications, quality, planning and organisation, project management, understanding the organisation, value of their skills, stakeholders, relevant regulation, policies, business fundamentals, processes and external environment factors. Behaviours: Professionalism, personal qualities, managing performance, adaptability, responsibility.

How will I be assessed?

All apprentices now complete an end-point assessment to complete their qualification. This is delivered by an independent end-point assessment organisation with no affiliation to the employer or training provider. This is a national requirement and endpoint assessments are carried out by a third party assessor. End point assessments use a variety of assessment methods depending on the apprenticeship standard these can include:Professional Discussions. Interviews. Showcase portfolios. What qualifications do I need?

Employers are looking for apprentices who have GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4. Level 2 - A minimum of 5 GCSEs, graded 9-3 or equivalent, including Maths or English. Level 3 - 6 - A minimum of 5 GCSEs, graded 9-4 or equivalent, including Maths or English.

What can I progress onto?

The administration role may be a gateway to further career opportunities, such as management or senior support roles.
