Is this course for me?

Are you looking to break into the esports industry? esports is defined as organised competitive gaming, which is human versus human, either as individuals or in teams. The esports industry is a fast-growing global industry. esports offers a unique opportunity to study a sector that crosses over multiple subject areas such as sport, marketing, enterprise, IT and the creatives.

What will I study?

You will get introduced to the exciting world of esports and develop your skills, strategies and analysis alongside developing your skills in video production , games design and how to produce an esports brand.

You will gain an overview of Health, Wellbeing and Fitness for esports players and learn more about Live-streamed broadcasting, shoutcasting and launching your esports enterprise. The course will also cover topics including nutrition and psychology for esports performance and you will learn about ethical and current issues within the industry and develop your computer networking skills too.

How long is the course?

Full Time for two academic years

How will I be assessed?

Continuous assessment throughout the programme through both written and practical assessments. Each individual unit and full award are graded as pass, merit or distinction.

What qualifications do I need?

A minimum of 5 GCSE subjects graded 4-9 including maths and English

What can I progress onto?

On completion of the programme you could apply to Higher Education or Foundation degrees within esport, Business, Leisure or Computing industries. Alternatively, students will have gained a range of skills throughout the programme that are recognised by employers and may wish to pursue immediate careers with employers or apprenticeship providers.
