Is this course for me?

The purpose of this qualification is to develop students as professional, self reflecting individuals able to meet the demands of employers in the engineering sector and to adapt to a constantly changing world. The qualification aims to widen access to higher education and enhance the career prospects of those who undertake it.

What will I study?

Modules such as: Engineering Maths, Engineering Science, Electrical Systems and Fault Finding, Electrical Machines, Electrical Systems and Fault Finding, Programming for Engineers, Engineering Mechanics and Materials and Analogue and Digital Electronics.

How long is the course?

One academic year for HNC and two years for HND.

How will I be assessed?

The programme is assessed through a variety of methods from written assignments and projects.

What qualifications do I need?

A relevant L3 Diploma with 96 UCAS points. Mature students with experience, a portfolio of work and employer references will be considered. Students must possess a Grade 4 or above in Maths at GCSE or equivalent.

What can I progress onto?

Progression onto the HND on a full time basis in year 2 and further progression onto the BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Top Up) degree programme.

£7500.00

Course fees shown are per annum for University Centre courses. Courses lasting longer than one year, fees will be payable per year.
