Is this course for me?

Suitable for total beginners to the domestic sewing machine or people who want to re-visit an old hobby.

What will I study?

Discover the basics from setting up the machine, exploring and experimenting with stitches and accessories and the trouble shooting of basic machining problems. You will progress onto producing an array of basic sewing techniques.



First 8 week block will look at producing some bunting using the initial basic skills covered.

How long is the course?

8 weeks

How will I be assessed?

Continual informal project-based assessment with one-to-one support.

What qualifications do I need?

No formal entry requirements.

What can I progress onto?

Students can progress onto further Art & Design courses.

Course fees shown are per annum for University Centre courses. Courses lasting longer than one year, fees will be payable per year.
