Additional Learning Support
Following a confidential assessment with one of the Additional Learning Support Officers, the following support may be available:
- Learning Support Assistants (LSA): Can provide support in and outside of the classroom. An LSA can help with things like; note-taking, organisational skills, reinforcing the class tutor’s instruction, adapting materials, mobility issues and personal care needs.
- Learning Support Tutors: These are fully trained staff with specialist qualifications. They are experienced in assessing and supporting students with a wide range of difficulties including dyslexia, dyspraxia, Asperger’s Syndrome and students with mental health issues.
Specialist equipment and software are available on loan to students. Our highly trained team can assess your enabling technology requirements.
We have a range of specialist equipment from low-tech aids through to high-tech equipment and specialist software.
The Additional Learning Support Team can also work with teaching staff to support your learning, organise access arrangements for examinations & assignments, and help you apply for Disabled Student’s Allowance (Higher Education).
