Student Support
We are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment that caters to the diverse needs of our students. Our comprehensive support services are designed to ensure you have the necessary resources to succeed academically and personally.
Some of the support we offer involves:
- Disabled Student Allowance: We encourage you to notify us of a disability and/or learning difficulty as soon as you can, so that we can make sure you have all the support you’re entitled to during your time with us. You may be entitled to a DSA support grant to help towards the cost of specialist equipment, support from a tutor or mentor or even travel.
- Community Chaplain: Our Chaplaincy team offers support and confidential advice for students of all faiths and none.
- Additional Learning Support: Our Additional Learning Support team can provide you with advice and guidance on mental health and wellbeing, as well as support for disabled students.
- HE Learning Mentor: A learning mentor will help you overcome barriers, which may prevent you from reaching your full potential. They’ll work with you to develop action plans to address the issues that may be preventing you from achieving.
- Financial Support (Access to Learning Fund): For students who are in financial hardship and who may need extra financial support to enable them to access or remain in higher education.
Wellbeing
We create a programme of events each year to educate people about their health and the importance of looking after it. The college also engages an external Counselling service to widen the support offer from the mental health tutor service we provide internally and to support the most vulnerable students when they need it.
Your success and wellbeing are our priorities. We encourage you to take full advantage of these support services to enhance your educational journey.
