North-West Construction Technical Excellence College (CTEC)
Building Construction Training for Everyone
The North-West Construction Technical Excellence College (CTEC) is redefining construction training for tomorrow, combining green, digital, modern, and traditional skills to develop a high-skilled workforce across the region through a collaborative network of employers and educators.
Led by Wigan & Leigh College, with delivery partners Blackpool & The Fylde College and East Lancashire Learning Group, the NW CTEC is just one of ten in England, chosen by the Department for Education to transform how construction skills are taught.
Backed by a £100 million national investment, the CTECs aim to train 40,000 skilled workers by 2029 — building 1.5 million homes and vital infrastructure.
CTEC offers every young person in the North-West access to high-quality construction training close to home, shaped by industry expertise and employer needs.
