Following an extensive career in HM Customs & Excise and HM Revenue and Customs, Susan spent 4 years as an elected Borough Councillor for South Ribble Borough Council, taking up the position of Cabinet Member for Finance and Governance, until her retirement in May 2019.

Whilst working in HM Customs and Excise, Susan qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor, and gained extensive experience in her roles as Senior Executive Officer and later as Senior Director strategically managing some of the largest businesses in the UK and internationally with a multi discipline team of tax / customs specialists, and as a National Business Manager, managing the strategic tax direction, analysing corporate group business activities and tax implications and giving tax guidance in the most complex of cases.

The extensive business and strategic knowledge and experience gained over the years, has given Susan an understanding of businesses needs for future generations of students and apprentices. Now retired, Susan is an avid reader, having developed her own library, and enjoys spending time with family, friends and her pets.
