Reporting an Incident
Report Anonymously
You have chosen to disclose an incident anonymously. The following guidance will explain to you what we can and cannot do with an anonymous disclosure.
You have chosen to report an incident or concern to the College anonymously. We take all disclosures seriously, but if you choose not to provide your name or contact details, this may constrain the college’s ability to take any action under its procedures and we will not be able to contact you to offer advice/support or provide a progress update.
A Disclosure will not formally begin a complaints process. Further information about the Complaints and procedures can be found on the page of our website.
What happens next?
Choosing to report anonymously means we might not be able to help you directly but can help others. The information you give us today will help us to provide better support to others and inform prevention work across the College.
In most circumstances, the College cannot take action against individuals on the basis of an anonymous report. If you want the college to take follow-up action regarding the incident or concern you are reporting, you should submit a report that includes your personal details, or make a formal complaint. However, should you share any information in your submission which makes it possible for the College to identify other people, the College may, in exceptional circumstances, be required to act on that information – for example if your report relates to an ongoing issue that the College is aware of, or highlights a safeguarding concern. This may result in the College sharing your report with these individuals. In these exceptional circumstances, we cannot guarantee the other person will not know that you submitted the report.
What about my data?
You can use this form to make an anonymous report if you choose to do so. If you do include personal data in your report, we may use this in ways detailed in our Student Privacy Notice (or, if you are not a student, on the Data Protection pages of our website). We will not take steps to identify you from your report unless we have good reason to do so, such as if we suspect you are abusing the reporting procedure.
