Electricity North West
Electricity North West faced significant challenges in recruitment and addressing skills gaps. Specifically, they needed to find a training provider within the North West region to deliver their Level 3 Power Networks Craftsperson and Level 4 Electrical Power Networks Engineer standards. The chosen provider had to not only meet the core requirements of these qualifications but also offer additional specialized training relevant to the roles.
The college responded to this challenge by designing a bespoke program tailored to the needs of Electricity North West. This program integrated the college’s curriculum delivery with practical on-site development to enhance the apprentices’ knowledge, skills, and behaviours. Our approach ensured that the apprentices received a comprehensive education that went beyond standard requirements.
To meet the unique needs of Electricity North West, we incorporated a range of additional training elements into the apprenticeship program. This included training in driving, construction equipment operation, and extensive health and safety protocols. These adaptations ensured that the apprentices were well-prepared for the demands of their roles.
The collaboration with the college had a significant positive impact on Electricity North West. Apprentices completing the program emerged as well-rounded Power Network Engineers, equipped with both their core qualifications and the specialized training required for their roles. This comprehensive development approach helped to close the skills gaps and improved the overall competency and readiness of the workforce at Electricity North West.
